Visibly Clear Pore & Shine Daily Wash

Hi everyone, so today I am writing about a product from the new range in Neutrogenas Visibly Clear collection, Pore & Shine. Currently there is only a facial wash and scrub available, however I will be writing about the pore & shine facial wash today. I like to try out new products but I am very conscious of my skin type and how it will react to a change of product, so if I can I will try to get products which are quite similar. My previous facial wash of choice was Boots Tea Tree & Witch Hazel Facial Wash which is perfect for the occasional break out and always left my skin feeling soft and refreshed, I wrote a review about this wash here so please take a peek. I came across this product when I was doing my usual monthly Boots stock up, it was on offer 2 for £5 on all visibly clear products, so I bought this along with the Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Oil Free Moisturizer.
This was a limited edition bottle to celebrate Visibly Clears 10th birthday, so as you can see they have done a lovely fruity design with different shades of green limes to correspond with the scent and ingredients tangerine and lime. Lime is very beneficial to the skin as it is very rich in antioxidants like vitamin C, citric acid and flavonoids, click here to find out more.  I do like the simple packaging it keeps it crisp and fresh which is what you would expect from buying a skin care product. I wasn't quite sure about the colour of the liquid at first as it reminds me of a fairy washing up liquid however I thought it was silly to judge the product on just appearance of the gel alone.

As my skin is combination, it can be a crazy mixture of oily and dry at the same time, it boggles my mind everytime as I never know what to do with it at times, quite frankly it's a pain in the bum. So this wash claims to unclog pores and mattifie the skin without over drying it. That's good to hear as I have tried other products which leave your skin feeling tight and flaky. This wash also includes salicylic acid which is meant to brighten up the skin for a more refreshed appearance. If you want anymore information on ingredients take a look at the website here.

Straight away what appeals to me about this product is the pump applicator as you get more out of the product and nothing is wasted, you can choose just the right amount for your skin. The instructions state to use this product in the morning and the evening, which is just right for me I like to use the same product morning and evening so as not to irritate my skin. One squeeze on the applicator is enough to cover my full face as it lathers up and spreads really well across my face. The liquid comes out quite clear with only a hint of green and the smell of lime and tangerine mix really well together. When applied to my skin it gave me a zingy tingly feeling which made my skin feel instantly refreshed but also made me feel more awake too. I have been using this wash after splashing some warm water over my face to open up the pores. I then use my Body Shop Vitamin C facial scrub to get out all the dirt and leftover make up, you can read a review on this product hereAfter using this facial wash for a week I have noticed my skin has been a lot clearer and I have experienced less break outs, I was really worried after reading some reviews that said the wash brought on breakouts but that doesn't seem to have happened with my skin PHEW!!! I guess it goes to show that everyone has different experiences and you have to try it out for yourself, you might be surprised.

Thank you very much for reading this post and I would love to hear all about the products that you use in your skincare routine!

The Autumn Tag 2014

Hello everyone, hope you've got your fur coats, woolly hats, scarves, gloves or long johns out from the back of the wardrobe, it is FREEZING!! I foolishly went for the ballet pumps instead of boots this morning, what came over me?, I could not feel my toes by the end of the day, that's a lesson learnt for sure. I saw this amazing tag over on Ray Of Glitter which is written by my beautiful friend Laura and thought "hey let's give that a go, I haven't done many tags".

1. Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
Ooooh I love all of these coffee shop chains but I have to say a Starbucks toffee nut latte or a gingerbread latte goes down quite a treat, if i'm really feeling festive I sprinkle a touch of cinnamon on top too YUM!!

2. Accessories - What do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I definitely wear all of these although gloves do annoy me after a while but I do miss them when I don't wear them. I am addicted to scarves and constantly buy them from Primark cause they have so many lush designs, at the moment my fave is a large red tartan one from Primark. I bought it last year but it's awesome, you can wrap it around you like a blanket. Wrapped it around myself in a staff meeting and my colleagues thought I was actually wrapped up in a blanket hehe! All i needed was slippers and a toffee nut latte! I love a good pair of boots and they must fit nicely around my calves, I hate it when there is a gap let's a draft in.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
Hmmm you know I listen to all sorts of music but at the moment I am totally addicted to the likes of Sidney Bechet and early Louis Armstrong, really feeling the 1920s -1950s Jazz.

4.  Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
Without fail since my teens I have gone for the same scent around Autumn/Winter time and that is Charlie Red. It's a lovely warming scent and it always reminds me of the festive period. Heres what this scent includes -
Heart notes - Carnation, tuberose, orchid, jasmine, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley and rose.
Top notes - Orange blossom, gardenia, plum, black currant, violet and peach.
Base notes - Honey, sandalwood, amber, musk and cedar.

5.  Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
I love burning candles in Autumn, they give the house a lovely warm autumnal glow whilst warming it up, saving on those electricity bills. Airwick always do a lovely spiced apple or cinnamon scented candle which is my favourite it reminds me of mulled wine and mince pies.

6.  What do you love most about Autumn?
I would have to say the colours, everything always looks so pretty, the leaves are beginning to fall off the trees and colouring everything in reds, oranges and browns. The big kid in me comes out at this time of the year as I just can't resist kicking the leaves up into the air! Halloween and Bonfire night are always faves too without a doubt!

7.  Favourite makeup look?
I love a nice rosy cheek look inspired by snow white in the autumn time, that reminds me I have a lovely cheek stain that I haven't used in a while.

8.  What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
I am most definitely looking forward to the Christmas markets, the beautiful log cabins with fur throws and burning fire. Lot's of yummy food and mulled wine to go round.

Why don't you have a go at The Autumn Tag!

Leave your links below so I can read them and leave a comment!

Thank you Laura at Ray Of Glitter for inspiring me to do this Tag!

A Tiny Miss Selfridge Sale Haul!

Hi beautiful people! Today I am sharing my tiny Miss Selfridge sale haul with you, I just couldn't resist buying these little beauties when I decided to take a little peek. I am an absolute sucker for a sale, stick a big red sale sign in the window and I am there, I am an advertisers dream! Now I have to admit that I haven't been in Miss Selfridge for a long time, I used to be a loyal customer but Primark and H&M draw me in everytime with the friendly prices. I do however love the range in Miss Selfridge at the moment and I have created a list of wants on my wishlist page so please take a peek! (link at the bottom of this post or click Wishlist above). Can I just say that the coats are absolutely divine and I want them all but I especially love the pink fur coat so chic.

Heres what I got my paws on ...

I fell in love with this bow as soon as I saw it from across the store, I didn't have my glasses on but I just knew it was going to be lush! I don't wear bows in my hair usually as it's really fine and they just slip out but I had to make an exception for this one, nothing a few grips can't fix. The soft pink chiffon with the gold detail in the centre and a clasp back, it's just so princessy and I want to be princess!!

This bow is still currently on sale at time of publish available here at £3.50 so get it quick!!

This duster jacket was also a must have, the black and white geometric pattern just instantly drew me in, I love a patterned jacket it just instantly makes an outfit. This is great thrown over a dress for a night out but great over jeans for a casual laid back look. Dress it up or down it's versatile and I love that! It's made from a lightweight material so it's very floaty and the sleeves are quite wide almost like kimono sleeves so there is plenty of movement. The pockets are super big too, great for throwing things in like your phone, keys or a tiny make up bag even.

Lets just take a moment to appreciate that geometric pattern!

This jacket was retailed at £39.00 but was purchased at £27.50, currently not available online in this pattern as far as I know but might be available in store.
However can be purchased online in pink here.

My last purchase was this beautiful Fatima hand necklace which I originally thought was a bracelet. I would love this in a bracelet too but never mind. The multicolored tassel drew me in, I don't know what it is about tassels but I love them on a bracelet or necklace, gives it a boho feel. There is quite a lot of jewellery pieces with the Fatima hand on, I would love a ring with this design.

The Fatima hand necklace is still available online at the price £3.50 originally £6.50, however it is in the sale so buy now here.

I hope you enjoyed my tiny Miss Selfridge haul and don't forget to check out wishlist at the link below!!

My Top 5 Halloween Flicks

Happy Halloween Everyone!!

I thought I would share with you my top 5 old school Halloween flicks, without fail these movies are present in our TV schedules every spooky eve. There are lots of really terrifying movies out there, mostly documentary type films which involves the use of a handheld camera e.g The Fourth Kind (2009), Paranormal Activity (2007) and The Last Exorcism (2010). Since the success of The Blair Witch Project (1999) I have seen a lot of these movies dominate the cinema and apart from The Blair Witch Project I haven't seen a single one of them. I love a good scare but I cannot sit through these films and will happily admit they are just too scary. As fictional as they may be there's always that niggling little thought in the back of your mind that says "WHAT IF!!".

Not for me thank you i'm staying old school!

Here's whats going to be shown on my screen this Halloween ...

1. Silence of the lambs (1991) Director - Jonathan Demme

2. A Nightmare on elm street (1984) Director - Wes Craven

3. Halloween (1978) Director - John Carpenter

4. The Exorcist (1973) Director - William Friedkin

5. The Shining (1980) Director - Stanley Kubrick

Now I don't claim to be an expert on movies so please click on the images for more information about the movies and directors.

I would love to hear your top 5 so I tag everyone who reads this to a post on their top 5 Halloween flicks!

Edward Scissorhands Inspired Halloween Outfit

Not all of us want to be dressed as zombies, witches, vampires etc so why not take some inspiration from the romantic dark fantasy Edward Scissorhands. I must have watched this film about 100 times or more and the performances from Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder captivates me everytime.

"I want to wear a beautiful white dress, dance around in the garden like an angel under some ice chippings while a guy with scissors for hands carves an ice statue of me, it's not fair..."

I don't think the man indoors would appreciate me plonking a big block of ice in the middle of the living room and asking him to attempt to carve me into it while I prance around like a fairy.

We can dream girls, we can dream ...

In honour of the lovely Winona Ryders birthday today I created an outfit for Halloween inspired by her beautiful performance in the spell-bounding Edward Scissorhands.
